Army Looks to Make Statement at Patriots

West Point, N.Y. – The Army West Point men's track and field team will be taking off to go to Boston, Mass., for the Patriot League Indoor Championships this weekend.

Last year Navy claimed the title capturing 225 points followed by Boston University (195), with the Black Knights coming in third (140). The meet was highlighted by wins from sophomore Ben Sims in the 60-meter dash and junior Lee Bares in the pole vault.

Going into the Patriot League Championships, Army currently owns league season bests in seven of the 20 events. This includes Sims in the 60-meter dash (6.76), Jose Santana in the 400-meter dash (48.74), Tyrell Maddox in the 500-meter dash (1:04.28), the 4x400-meter relay (3:18.30), 4x800-meter relay (7:50.30), Jeff Giannettino in the high jump (2.14 meters), and Bares in the pole vault (5.10 meters).
