Army Topped by Navy in Star Meet

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Army West Point men's swimming and diving team was unable to overcome an early deficit and ultimately fell to Navy, 209.5-90.5, in the Star Meet on Thursday night at Lejeune Hall.

Army dropped to an even 2-2 in head-to-head meets this season, while the Midshipmen improved to 8-0.

ARMY NOTABLES

Johnny Ellery highlighted the meet for Army, placing first in the 100 (47.91) and 200 fly (1:45.15), both personal bests.
In the 200 fly, Kevin Doo (1:46.97) and James Bilbrey (1:47.49) scored as well by placing third and fourth, respectively. Doo also finished second in the 100 fly.
Peter Mikheyev swam away with the 200 IM at 1:46.40, a PR. He later placed second in the 200 free with another PR time of 1:37.58.
Josh Sembrano finished third in the 100 back at 48.84. He would go on to also take the third spot in the 200 back (1:46.74).
Nathan Hein finished second in the 100 free after hitting the wall at 44.66 for a PR.
Army closed out the meet with a second-place showing in the 400 free relay after the group of Hein, Ellery, Doo and Evin Rude finished at 2:57.83.
