- The Black Knights' 10 made shots in the fourth quarter was a season-best for a single quarter.
- It was the first time they reached double-digit made field goals in a quarter since Feb. 25, 2017 against Lehigh.
- Army's defense held a top-25 scorer in the nation in Nicole Enabosi to 2-of-11 shooting.
- Coming into the game, Enabosi was making over 60 percent of her shots.
- Army forced 19 Delaware turnovers.
- The Black Knights dropped their first home contest of the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Blue Hens got ahead 9-2 after connecting on three of their first four shots and sinking a trio of free throws in the opening four minutes. After Army cut it to four, 11-7, Delaware went on a short 6-0 run to bring the lead to double figures for the first time.
- Both sides had a second quarter to forget as Army and Delaware combined to shoot 7-for-24 from the field. However, Hicks provided a spark off the bench, putting up six points in just six minutes of action for the Black Knights. Despite the poor shooting performance, the Blue Hens took an eight-point advantage into the half.
- Delaware came out of the locker room looking to extend its lead and did so by shooting the ball with efficiency. Over an eight-minute stretch, the Blue Hens went 9-for-12 from the field with Bailey Kargo pacing the way with 10 points on 4-of-6 shooting, including a pair of 3-pointers. Delaware saw its lead grow to 23, 58-35, after a 9-2 run closed out the third frame.
- Looking to rally late, similar to how they did in the win against Air Force last Saturday, the Black Knights took the floor and tried to put a dent into the large deficit. Army started to find some success on the offensive end, but committed a bevy of fouls that sent Delaware to the line 14 times.
- Delaware only made one field goal in the quarter on 1-of-6 shooting, but was able to put up enough points at the foul line to ward off Army's push and grab the win. Enabosi benefited the most from the Black Knights' fouling, as she went 7-for-8 from the charity stripe in the fourth.
UP NEXT
- The Black Knights will have a difficult road test ahead of them when they head to Milwaukee for 4 p.m. ET meeting with Marquette on Sunday. The Golden Eagles were receiving votes in the latest AP rankings.
