- Army's posted a season-best 18 assists on 26 made shots.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After one of the Blackbirds' top scorers, Jeydah Johnson, buried a 3-pointer early in the first quarter, Army's lead was sitting at two, 9-7. However, sparked by a Hovren layup off a dish by McNeal, the Black Knights went on a 16-0 run that spanned over six minutes and carried into the second quarter.
- LIU Brooklyn halted the scoreless drought with another score by Johnson, but once again Army responded and went on a 8-2 run that featured back-to-back three-point makes by Libby Tacka and Morris to go ahead by 20, 31-11.
- A short 7-1 LIU Brooklyn run later in the second brought the game within 13 points, 36-23. Army was able to bring it back up to 18 though after a pair of Liz Layne free throws and a Morris make from beyond-the-arc with 12 seconds left in the half.
- Army shot 4-of-6 from deep in the opening half and was 9-for-11 at the charity stripe.
- It was a back-and-forth low-scoring third quarter and Army managed to bring its lead to 23 with less than 30 seconds remaining.
- The Black Knights continued to play solid defense in the fourth quarter and with 6:55 left to play, LIU Brooklyn was held without a point until the 1:19 mark. During that stretch, Army grabbed a 34-point advantage by going on a 12-0 run that was capped off by a Rawls' layup, the first of her career.
- At that point, the game was well out of reach for the Blackbirds and Army comfortably sealed the 71-37 victory on its home floor.
