WASHINGTON – The Army West point volleyball closed its season in the Patriot League Semifinals Saturday night with a 3-0 deficit to Navy.

ARMY HIGHLIGHTS AND MATCH NOTES

The Black Knights finished the season with an 18-11 overall mark and an 11-5 record in the Patriot League.
It was the 19th straight season that Army made an appearance at the Patriot League Tournament.
Rachel Gearon led Army with five kills and was named to the All-Tournament Team, while Amber Clay, Carolyn Bockrath, Allie Strong, Vanessa Wesley and Sydney Morriss each had four.
Courtney Horace pitched in three kills on the night.
Nikki Lum posted 13 assists, while Bethune had 11.
Ana Oglivie led with 13 digs on the night, while Bethune had nine.

HOW IT HAPPENED
SET ONE (25-15 NAVY)

The Midshipmen were hot right out of the gate forcing 10 errors by the Black Knights in the first set compared to their own two.
Horace notched three kills in the set followed by Wesley and Bockrath who each tallied two.
Strong and Oglivie notched service aces.

SET TWO (25-15 NAVY)

Navy continued to excel over the Black Knights in set two allowing just 15 points for the second straight set.
Lum stepped up for the Cadets with five assists.
Gearon and Bockrath notched two kills in the set for Army with Bockrath and Strong joining together for a block.

SET THREE (25-22 NAVY)

Army picked it up in the third and kept things tight. The Black Knights did not trail by more than four points for the entirety of the set.
Strong, Gearon and Morriss stepped in with three kills apiece during this set, while Bethune had six assists.
Bethune and Oglivie each posted eight digs in the set.
