WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point women's basketball team is set to host Lafayette in a Patriot League matchup on Thursday, Jan. 5 at 7 p.m.

STORYLINES
Sophomore Madison Hovren notched her second straight double-double on Monday against Bucknell and now has eight on the season. Her eight double-doubles are tied for eighth nationally and she is one of just three players across Division I to average at least 20.0 points per game and 10.0 rebounds per game, along with California's Kristine Anigwe (23.4 points per game, 10.2 rebounds per game) and Northwestern's Nia Coffey (20.6 points per game, 11.6 rebounds per game).
Army enters the Lafayette game ranking in the top 10 nationally in three categories. The Black Knights stand seventh in turnover margin (+8.46), eighth in turnovers forced (23.46) and ninth in steals per game (13.0).
THE ARMY-LAFAYETTE SERIES
Army leads Lafayette, 36-24, in a rivalry that dates back to Nov. 26, 1983. The Cadets have won three straight over the Leopards, and are 10-1 in the series since the 2011-12 season. The last meeting saw Army come away with an 84-57 victory at Christl Arena on Feb. 3, 2016, in a win that marked head coach Dave Magarity's 500th career victory.
ARMY (10-3, 1-1 PATRIOT LEAGUE)
• Army came back with nine unanswered points to finish the game, but could not come all the way back during a 60-56 loss to Bucknell on Jan. 2.
• Hovren tallied a 23-point, 12-rebound double-double and was named Patriot League Player of the Week for the fourth time earlier this week.
• Junior Janae McNeal added 10 points and classmate Daizjah Morris contributed seven.
• Hovren leads the Patriot League with 20.0 points per game, and ranks tied for first with 10.3 rebounds per game.
LAFAYETTE (1-13, 0-2 PATRIOT LEAGUE)
• Lafayette fell to a 60-55 overtime defeat at home against Loyola in its last outing on Jan. 2.
• Sarah Agnello and Harriet Ottewill-Soulsby each scored 13 points, while Ottewill-Soulsby also grabbed a game-high nine rebounds.
• Anna Ptasinski paces the Leopards with 8.0 points per game, while Olivia Gumbs is the team's top rebounder with 6.2 rebounds per game.
