- Mike Smith - Director of Track and Field/Cross Country "We had some break-throughs tonight and the vast majority of those highlights came from our underclassmen. We had wins in the women's 3000 meter run, the 1000 meter run and the weight throw. All of those women are either freshmen or sophomores. I always look for people to improve. That should happen as the season goes along and fitness improves. So I am not surprised to see better marks at each meet. The impressive thing about our young group is how often they are winning events, finishing in the top three or making the final in events at our meet. We have some really good competitors. We are setting ourselves up nicely for the champion season."
