Two Cadets Earn Title in Smallbore vs. Nebraska

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point rifle team fell to Nebraska 4,665-4,647 in a Great America Rifle Conference (GARC) match Monday at Tronsrue Marksmanship Center.

The Black Knights edged the Huskers in smalbore by two points (2301-2299) with Payne Nunn and Marvin Lewis tying for first-place honors with identical 582s - four points ahead of the visitor's top shooter. Nebraska outpointed Army by 20 points in air rifle (2366-2346) to claim the victory.

AGGREGATE SCORING

The Huskers took the top two spots with scores of 1170 and 1169.
Payne Nunn and Marvin Lewis captured the next two spots with scores of 1168 and 1167, respectfully.
Danielle Cuomo (1158) and Nathan Brewer (1154) rounded out the rest of Army's scoring.

HOW IT HAPPENED IN SMALLBORE

Nunn and Lewis shot the top smallbore scores both with 582.
Nebraska took the next three places with scores from Samantha Peterson, Dacotah Faught and Nina Radulovic.
The Black Knights' next two scores came from Cuomo (569) and Brewer (568).

HOW IT HAPPENED IN AIR RIFLE

Nebraska captured the top three places in air rifle, with scores from Rachel Martin (594) , Faught (593) and Radulovic (593).
The Cadets captured the next three positions with scores from Cuomo (589), Nunn (586) and Brewer (586).
Lewis rounded out scorers in the top ten shooting a (585).
