Baseball Wraps Up Season with Hartford

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point baseball team will play its final series of the season against Hartford this weekend with a doubleheader on the road before hosting the Hawks at Palisades Credit Union Park in Pomona, N.Y., on Sunday. Saturday's twin bill is scheduled to begin at noon while Sunday's season finale will begin at 2 p.m.

The Black Knights enter the weekend with a record of 16-30, while Hartford sports a mark of 28-13.
Army has won both games against the Hawks dating back to 2013. Hartford came to Johnson Stadium at Doubleday Field for the first-ever meeting between the two schools. The Cadets took the decision in that game, 4-3, before notching a 4-2 victory the following year.
Junior Kris Lindner has been a spark plug for the Black Knights offensively, leading the team in hits (51), doubles (eight), extra base hits (10), runs scored (35), slugging percentage (.403), walks (21) and on base percentage (.438). Daniel Burggraaf has been dominant on the mound for Army, notching a team-best 3.21 earned run average while posting a 3-2 record in his freshman campaign. The Belfair, Wash., native is tied for the team-lead in strikeouts in 42 innings of work.
David MacKinnon has been the leader of a potent Hartford offense this season, hitting at a clip of .373. As a team, the Hawks are hitting .295 with six players batting over .300. The power in their lineup has come from Ben Bengtson, who leads the team with four home runs, four triples, nine doubles and 34 RBIs. Collin Ferguson, the Hawks' closer, boasts a team-best 2.14 ERA while recording seven saves in 15 appearances out of the bullpen.
