Army Set for Rock 93.3 Hudson Valley Baseball Classic

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point baseball team will look to take the series lead against Marist in the 11th Annual Rock 93.3 Hudson Valley Baseball Classic from Dutchess Stadium in Fishkill, N.Y., on Wednesday. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.

Marist tied the series with a 4-3 victory last season. In the first 10 games of the rivalry, each side has won two-consecutive games following Army's 6-1 victory in the inaugural matchup in 2006 and last year's game.
Admission to the game is free of charge with the gates opening to the public at 3:30 p.m. for Marist's batting practice, followed by Army's batting practice which will run from 4:05 p.m. to 4:40 p.m. Team autograph sessions will take place from 6:00-6:15 p.m. in the stands along both baselines with full team introductions and pregame festivities preceding the game.
Postgame festivities include the trophy presentation ceremony and a fireworks show presented by Legion Fireworks.
The Black Knights enter the game with an overall record of 14-28 while Marist's record is an even .500 at 18-18.
Junior infielder Kris Lindner has powered the Army offense this season, leading the team in multiple categories. The Morehead City, N.C., native leads the Black Knights in average (.336), slugging percentage (.411), on-base percentage (.455), hits (49), runs scored (35), doubles (six), walks (19) and stolen bases (14).
On the mound, Army's youth has been the driving force with freshmen Daniel Burggraaf and Jacob Carte leading the way. Burggraaf and Carte have the two-best ERAs on the team at 3.50 and 3.86, respectively.
The Red Foxes offense has been led by Frank Gregoire, who is hitting at a .292 clip. He leads the team in hits (35), doubles (11), home runs (six), RBI (26) and slugging percentage (.550). Ryan Thomas has been the anchor of the bullpen for Marist, with 11 saves in 22 appearances. His 0.74 ERA is the best on the team through 24.1 innings of work.
