Women’s Track and Field Finish First Day at Princeton

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Army West Point women's track and field team wrapped up its first day at the Larry Ellis Invitational hosted by Princeton on Friday night.

Freshman Abby Halbrook had the best day for a Cadet. Halbrook placed 12th out of 79 runners in the 1500 meter run elite with a personal-best 4:29.77. She was the third-highest placing freshman in the event.

Fellow freshman Cassie Mundekis placed 33rd in a group of 80 competitors in the 800 meter run elite. She also posted a personal-best for outdoor, finishing in 2:11.10.

Junior Rebecca Cousens garnered a 10th place finish in the hammer throw. Her best toss of 50.86 meters put her in the top half of the field.

The Black Knights will continue with the event tomorrow beginning with the 4x100 relay at noon.
