Women’s Track and Field Wrap Up First Day at Bucknell

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Army West Point women's track and field team finished up the first day at the Bucknell Outdoor Classic on Saturday night. Freshman Cassie Mundekis improved on her 1500 meter time by over five seconds to highlight the day.

"Proud of our team effort today," said Director of Track and Field and Cross Country Mike Smith. " A lot of determined men and women out there. You can't ask for much more. This type of effort will pay off down the road."

Mundekis placed 27th out of 56 with a time of 4:35.71. It was a big jump for the rookie in time after placing third last week finishing in 4:40.86.

Two Cadets return to the track tomorrow morning for another day worth of events. Action will begin in the women's pole vault which immediately follows the men's pole vault slated to start at 11:00 a.m.
