The Black Knights (12-21, 3-5 PL) will now begin a 10-game road trip that ends with the 11th annual Rock 93.3 Hudson Valley Baseball Classic on Wednesday, April 27. Next week's midweek tilt is at NYIT before Army travels to its service academy rivals, Navy, on April 23-24.
Through the first two weekends of conference play, Kris Lindner, Keegan Vega and Jacob Page are tied for the team-lead in hits with nine apiece, while Page and Lindner have both left the yard. The senior center fielder has slugged a team-best .654 in those games with five RBIs, two walks and two stolen bases.
Holy Cross (15-20, 5-3 PL) comes into the third weekend of Patriot League play after taking three games from Lehigh. In their first series, the Crusaders split the series against Navy with each side sweeping a doubleheader. The Crusaders lead the league in home runs as a team with 29, while Anthony Critelli is the individual leader with seven.
Last season, Army was 1-3 against Holy Cross with the win coming in the series-opener.
Saturday's doubleheader is scheduled to be Holy Cross's "Purple Game" and Military Appreciation Day.
