Men’s Track Returns to Action at Penn Challenge

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point women's track and field team travels to Franklin Field on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania for the Penn Challenge on Saturday.

The field will consist of Army, Penn, UConn, Manhattan, Rider and Villanova.
The Black Knights return to the east coast following a 10-day trip to California. The Black Knights won the Anteater Four-Way over UC Irvine and Long Beach State. A week later, they finished fourth at the Spring Break Invitational.
Sophomore Lee Bares was named the Patriot League Field Athlete of the Week after winning the pole vault at both events with his season-high coming in the Anteater Four-Way at 5.20m.
In addition to Bares, Army had six individual champions in the Golden State.
At the Anteater Four-Way, the 4x100 relay team of Jose Santana, Ben Sims, Kevin Dyer and Tyler Davis was victorious, while junior Trevor Touchton won the 1500m run, co-captain Taylor Andrews bested the field in the 110m hurdles and freshman Jeff Giannettino captured the title in the high jump.
A couple of Cadets repeated their winning performances the following week at the Spring Break Invitational. Touchton won the 800m run while Giannettino won the high jump for the second-straight meet.
The meet is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. with the men's discus.
