Baseball Set for Home-and-Home with Seton Hall

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point baseball team plays its final weekend series before conference play begins when it takes on Seton Hall in a three-game home-and-home series. The Black Knights host the Pirates in a single game Friday afternoon at 3 p.m., before traveling to South Orange, N.J. for a doubleheader on Saturday.
The Black Knights bring an 8-11 record in the contest, while Seton Hall boasts a 14-6 overall mark in non-conference action.
Army fell to Columbia on Wednesday afternoon by a 13-3 final, as Josh White hit a three-run home run, Trey Martin went 2-for-3 and Kris Lindner and Keenan Vega each added one base hit for Army. Sophomore outfielder John McCarthy extended his on-base streak to 15 games. On the mound, the Black Knights used seven different pitchers in the scheduled staff day, including five freshman.
Seton Hall comes to West Point riding a 10-game winning streak after a 5-4 walkoff victory on Wednesday over Saint Peter's. Zack Weigel doubled home the decisive run and Derek Jenkins had a performance to remember with six of Seton Hall's nine stolen bases in addition to a 3-for-4 effort at the plate, including a walk, RBI and two runs scored.
All three games of the series will be traditional nine-inning contests and Friday's tilt will be broadcast on the Patriot League Network. Live stats are also available here.
