Men’s Tennis Crushes Cleveland State

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Army West Point men's tennis team begun its spring break trip with a 6-1 victory over Cleveland State on Friday. The Black Knights improved to 8-6 on the season while the Vikings dropped to 9-6.

Army faced a stern test to earn the doubles point. The top pairing of junior Grant Riechmann and senior Harrison McCormick edged Cleveland State's Joe VanMeter and Andre Mick 7-6. Junior Sam Lampman and sophomore Michael Nguyen teamed for a 6-4 victory to clinch the point for the Cadets.

The Black Knights dropped only the first singles flight as Lampman narrowly lost 6-4, 6-4 to VanMeter. Kyle Barnes, Nguyen, and McCormick each picked up their second straight singles victories in the bottom three flights, respectively.

Army returns to action tomorrow to face service academy rival Air Force. First serve comes at 10 a.m.
