Women’s Basketball Heads to Lehigh Saturday Night

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Coming off its 14th consecutive win, the Army West Point women's basketball team makes the trip to Bethlehem, Pa., on Saturday, Feb. 27 to face Lehigh at 7:30 p.m. The contest is the first of two road games to close the regular season for the Black Knights.

STORYLINES
Army extended its program-record winning streak to 14 games with a victory over Boston University on Senior Night (Feb. 24). The Black Knights honored the Class of 2016 with a special banner ceremony after the game, recognizing the winningest class in Academy history. For more on the ceremony, see the note on page 2.
Army earned its 24th win of the season with the victory over Boston University, tying it for the second-highest win total in the program's 39-year history. The Black Knights previously won 24 games in 2006-07. The team's current wins record for a season is 25 (2013-14, 1983-84).
Over the last three games, senior Aimee Oertner is averaging 12.7 points, 6.7 rebounds and 5.7 blocks. Her shooting percentage during that span is .586 (17-of-29). The senior has scored in double figures in seven straight outings.

Army trails Lehigh, 30-29, but has won seven of the last 10 meetings, including a 63-39 win at West Point earlier this season. Lehigh holds an 18-8 advantage in games played in Bethlehem, Pa.

• Army took a 72-38 victory over Boston University on Feb. 24 to give the Black Knights a perfect 14-0 regular-season record at Christl Arena this year.
• Seniors Brianna Johnson, Kelsey Minato, Brigette Ocran, Aimee Oertner and Jean Parker were recognized in a Senior Night presentation before the game and were honored for being the winningest class in team history after the game.
• Minato tallied 30 points to lead all scorers, while Oertner notched 14 points, seven rebounds and six blocks.
• Parker scored nine points after knocking in three three-pointers, Johnson recorded career highs of nine rebounds and six assists, and Ocran appeared in the starting lineup for the first time in her career.
• Army's Class of 2016 is currently tied with the Lehigh Class of 2011 for the most total victories over a four-year period in Patriot League history (94 wins).
LEHIGH (17-10, 10-6 PATRIOT LEAGUE) NOTES
• Lehigh enters the weekend third place in the Patriot League standings at 10-6 in the league, and sits one game ahead of Holy Cross, Loyola and Navy (9-7).
• The Mountain Hawks picked up their seconds straight win with an 83-74 home victory over Colgate on Feb. 24.
• Junior Lexi Martins finished with 19 points and 14 boards in the Colgate game, while sophomore Quinci Mann tallied 19 points and five assists.
• Martins leads Lehigh in scoring average (15.1), rebounding (14.0) and assists (2.5). Her 14.0 rebounds per game currently lead the nation.
MINATO, CLASS OF 2016 HONORED ON SENIOR NIGHT
Minato became the first active player in Academy history to have her jersey retired during a ceremony after Army's Senior Night win over Boston University on Feb. 24. Minato's retired jersey banner was one of two banners lowered from Christl Arena's rafters following the game, as the Academy also honored the Army Women's Basketball Class of 2016, which is the school's winningest class and is currently tied with Lehigh's Class of 2011 for the most victories over a four-year period in Patriot League history (94 wins).
