Wrestling Travels to Navy for Star Meet

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point wrestling team will wrap up its regular season on Saturday with its annual star meet versus Navy, which is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m., from Alumni Hall.

STORYLINES
The Black Knights are looking to build off of last year's win over Navy at Christl Arena that snapped a 17-match winless streak against their service academy rivals. With last season's victory, head coach Kevin Ward became the first Army wrestling coach to defeat Navy in his first year.
THE ARMY-NAVY SERIES
The Army-Navy rivalry is in its 60th year on the wrestling mat, dating back to 1957. Navy currently leads the series 48-6-5 after the Black Knights recorded a 21-10 victory over the Mids last season.

- Army returned nine wrestlers from last year's lineup against Navy, including eight that are projected to start in this year's dual.
- All seven Cadets who won matches last season opposite the Mids are returners.
- Senior Brian Harvey (174) is the only Cadet ranked coming into the dual, coming in at No. 18 in the InterMat poll.
- Junior Russell Parsons Jr. (157) is Army's leader in wins (23), dual wins (7), bonus point wins (11) and is tied for the team lead in technical falls (4).
- Parsons Jr. was the only member of the team to come away victorious last week against fourth-ranked Oklahoma State for his 50th-career win.
- Navy enters the weekend coming of a 24-12 loss to No. 13 North Carolina.
- Jadaen Bernstein (174) and Matthew Miller (184) are Navy's two ranked wrestlers coming into the dual.
- The Midshipmen are introducing five new wrestlers in their lineup to the rivalry.
- Navy has three wrestlers with 25 or more wins this season in Bernstein, Miller and Michael Woulfe at 197 pounds.
