Women’s Rugby to Host Norwich in NIRA Quarters

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point women's rugby team will host Norwich in the National Intercollegiate Rugby Association (NIRA) quarterfinals on Saturday at 11 a.m. from the Anderson Rugby Complex with a berth to next weekend's semifinals on the line.
This will be the first meeting of the season between the Black Knights and the Cadets.

ARMY (4-3, 2-3 NIRA)
• The Black Knights are 2-2 against Norwich since the fall of 2014, having won the last two meetings by a combined score of 111-32.
• Army's offense is led by junior Rebecca Stipp, whose 52 points and eight tries are a team best.
• Freshman Bayleigh Gable has converted 15 times, the most of any Black Knight this season.
• The Black Knights have advanced to the championship match in 15s each of the last two years.
NORWICH (3-5, 3-5 NIRA)
• Norwich's offense is led by junior wing Denisse Zambon who has scored seven tries.
• Sophomore flanker Sheila Decker leads the Cadets with 77 points on six tries, 16 conversions and five penalty kicks.
• The Cadets have won two of their last three games with victories over the University of New England and Bowdoin sandwiched around a setback against AIC.
