WEST POINT, N.Y. - Senior wide receiver Edgar Poe was selected as the Army Athletic Association Athlete of the Week after his performance in the win over Wake Forest.
Poe finished with a career high 122 receiving yards on four catches and scored Army's first touchdown of the afternoon in the 21-13 come-from-behind win against the Demon Deacons. It was the third 100-yard receiving game for Poe, who had reached the mark twice last season.
He hauled in a 43-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Ahmad Bradshaw to put the Black Knights up midway through the first quarter. Poe also caught a 35 yard pass from Bradshaw in the second quarter and then had a huge catch in the fourth frame that put Army in business at the Wake Forest 26 yard line. Bradshaw would score four plays later to give Army the lead.
Poe is averaging 22.2 yards per catch with nine receptions for 199 yards and a touchdown this season.
