WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point football team travels to North Carolina this Saturday for a matchup against Wake Forest with kick off set for 3:30 p.m.

THE OPENING KICKOFF
• Army suffered a setback last Saturday with its first home loss of the season as North Texas topped the Black Knights, 35-18, at Michie Stadium.
• The Black Knights return to the road for the first time since its 13-6 loss at Duke on Oct. 8 in Hurricane Matthew.
• Army slipped to second in the nation in rushing offense after gaining 302 yards against the Mean Green and throwing the ball 21 times, which was a season high.
• The Black Knights defense gave up a season-high 35 points against North Texas, but still rank third in the country in total defense, allowing just 255 yards per game.
• Bateman's bunch is eighth in the country in rushing defense, allowing a mere 101 yards per game, having only given up more than 15 points twice this season.
• Army is 2-2 on the road this season with wins at Temple and UTEP, but have dropped their last two away from Michie Stadium.

ARMY-WAKE FOREST SERIES HISTORY
• This will be the 16th meeting all-time between the Black Knights and Demon Deacons.
• Wake Forest leads the matchup with an 11-4 mark and have won the last nine meetings.
• The Demon Deacons are undefeated at home in the series with a perfect 6-0 mark in Winston-Salem, N.C.
• Army won the first three meetings by a combined score of 141-14.
• The two meetings between the two schools have come down to the wire as the Deacs have kept their winning streak alive with a pair of three-point victories.
ABOUT THE DEMON DEACONS
• Wake Forest enters Saturday's game with an impressive 5-2 mark and is coming off its bye week.
• The Demon Deacons were in action on Oct. 15 and lost to Florida State on the road by a 17-6 score.
• They started off hot with four straight wins, but have lost two of their last three games.
• Wake Forest plays good solid defense as the Deacs are ranked 16th nationally in scoring defense and shuts teams down near the goal line as they are fifth in the country in red zone defense.
• Quarterback John Wolford is back behind center and has averaged 144.3 yards per game through the air and 42.3 on the ground.
• He has recorded 296 rushing yards and 1,010 passing yards and a total of eight touchdowns.
• Matt Colburn is the leading rusher with 377 yards, while Cortez Lewis has hauled in 21 receptions for 276 yards.
• Jessie Bates leads the defense with 53 total tackles and a team-best three interceptions.
• Marquel Lee isn't far behind with 52 tackles, including 11.5 tackles for loss and four sacks. Duke Ejiofor has also been a force with 7.5 sacks.
RUSHING ATTACK
• The Black Knights slipped back to the second ranked rushing attack in the country after its 302-yard performance last Saturday.
• Army has reached 300 yards rushing in all but one game this season. It was held to 165 yards at Duke on Oct. 8.
• Ahmad Bradshaw led the way against North Texas with 90 yards on the ground and a score.
• Andy Davidson recorded 70 yards against the Mean Green and Army welcomed back Darnell Woolfolk for the first time in a couple weeks as he scored his fifth touchdown of the season.
• The Black Knights have seen 12 different players reach the end zone in the first seven games this year with Davidson leading the way with seven scores.

• The Black Knights' defense has allowed an average of only 17 points per game over the first seven contests, which ranks 10th in the nation. They gave up a season high 35 against the Mean Green.
• Five of the seven opponents Army has faced have been held to two touchdowns or less on the scoreboard.
• In total defense, Army ranks third in the country, allowing an average of 255.9 yards per game.
• The Black Knights have stopped the run on a consistent basis in the first seven games as they are eighth in the nation, allowing just 101 yards per game on the ground.
• North Texas had the most success this year against the rushing defense with 202 yards on the ground.
• The Army passing defense is just as good as the Black Knights are third in FBS, allowing only 154.9 yards through the air.

• The Army defense sacked the North Texas quarterback twice last Saturday, including Alex Aukerman's team-leading fifth of the season.
• Andrew King and Kenneth Brinson share the second spot on the team with four sacks apiece.
• Aukerman is having a breakout season overall with 9.5 tackles for loss through the first seven games and his 1.4 per game average is 28th in the country.
• He is a hybrid-type of player that can play as a defensive end or outside linebacker at times in the game.

• Andrew King has continued his momentum from an impressive junior season into his senior campaign.
• The senior middle linebacker leads the team with 56 tackles, including 31 solo stops.
• He has four sacks on the year and 7.5 tackles for loss.
• King has been in the right place at the right time with two fumble recoveries in 2016, including one at Duke.
• King is currently fourth all-time in career tackles for loss with 32 and is one behind Jim Brock '87 and Cameron Craig '07 for third all-time.

TWO-HEADED MONSTER
• The offensive unit is led by quarterbacks Ahmad Bradshaw and Chris Carter.
• The duo has seen action in six of seven games this season.
• Bradshaw is the second leading rusher on the Black Knights with 494 yards in seven games.
• He recorded his second 100-yard rushing game of the season with 109 on the ground against Lafayette and scored on a 60-yard run on the fourth play of the game.
• Carter missed his first game of the season Saturday with no snaps against North Texas.
• Both quarterbacks had a good day against the Lafayette through the air with Carter throwing for 103 yards and a touchdown, while Bradshaw also threw a touchdown in the win.
• Third-string quarterback Malik McGue got his second opportunity of the season at the position in that game and ran for 94 yards on eight carries, including a 41-yard touchdown run.
