Women's Rugby Downs Norwich 43-17

NORTHFIELD, VT - Looking to claim its first win in program history over heated rival Norwich, the Army West Point women's rugby team downed the Cadets 45-17 on the road Saturday afternoon.
It is the first victory over Norwich for the Black Knights who move to 3-0 on the season.
Norwich got out to an early lead, earning a 10-0 lead through six minutes.
Lindy Clark scored back-to-back tries, with Nicole Heavirland converting on the second, cutting the Norwich lead to 12-10.
Norwich scored in the 16th minute, booting the kick, to go up 17-12.
Clark continued her dominance in the 37th minute, earning her second score of the afternoon, as Heavirland converted the try to send the Black Knights into the break with the 19-17 lead.
In the opening minutes of the second half, captain Chioma Odocha scored, followed by a try from Carissa Pekny, as a conversion by Heavirland, to put the Black Knights up 31-17.
Heavirland posted a penalty kick in the 74th minute and Odocha earned her second score of the afternoon, as Heavirland posted another conversion, giving Army the 45-17 win.
With the victory, Army improves to 3-0 on the year, claiming three consecutive wins over conference opponents. They'll travel to Penn State to meet with Lindenwood and the host Nittany Lions next weekend.
