Women's Tennis Falls in Patriot League Semifinals

VERONA, N.Y. -- The No. 3 Army West Point women's tennis team had a 4-0 season-ending loss to No. 2 Boston University in the Patriot League semifinals Saturday afternoon in Verona, N.Y. The Black Knights closed-out their season with an overall record of 15-11 and 5-2 in conference play.
Boston earned the doubles point with wins at the first and third positions. Eva Sung and Hannah Dahlem fell to Hyoty and Rodriguez 8-5 at No. 1, while Elle Taylor and Nancy Porter were defeated at third doubles 8-3. Carolyn Pitman and Julian Mok teamed together to defeat the Terriers' No. 2 team 8-4 to extend their win streak to six in a row and the pair improved to 11 wins overall on the season.
In singles, Taylor was defeated at the No. 4 position, 6-0, 6-1. Sung fell at second singles 6-2, 6-1, while Dahlem was defeated at third singles, 6-4, 6-4.
The remaining matches were not finished since the Terriers clinched the match. At first singles, Pitman was in the third set after splitting with No. 15 Hyoty, 6-4, 4-6, 5-1. Allyson Hayley was leading in the first set at sixth singles, 4-3, and Nancy Porter was down one in the second set at No. 5 singles after dropping the first one to Lin 6-2.
Today's Patriot League semifinal loss concludes Army West Point's 2014-15 season.
