WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point women's basketball team returns to action for the first time in a week when it takes the court on Sunday to host Rider at 1 p.m.

STORYLINES
Army enters Sunday after having a week off, last playing at #14/9 Duke on Nov. 22. The Black Knights led for nearly the entire first half, including possessing a three-point halftime lead, before eventually taking a 72-61 setback. Due to its competitive showing against the Blue Devils, Army is receiving national attention this week with two votes in the latest USA Today Coaches Poll.
Senior Kelsey Minato leads the Black Knights in scoring with 25.0 points per game through four contests this season and finds herself 29 points shy of becoming the Academy's career scoring leader. Minato currently stands at 1,913 career points and is second only to Army Hall of Famer Katie Macfarlane's (USMA '04) program record of 1,941 points.
THE ARMY-RIDER SERIES
Army trails Rider, 4-2, in an all-time series between the schools that dates back to the 1995-96 season. The sides last met on Dec. 7, 2012, with Rider taking a 66-60 victory in Lawrenceville, N.J.
ARMY WEST POINT (3-1) NOTES
• Army controlled a 23-14 advantage over Duke with 44 seconds remaining in the first period before taking a 34-31 lead into the halftime break in its eventual 72-61 loss.
• The Black Knights shot at least 40 percent for the fourth game in a row to start the year, finishing the contest with a shooting percentage of .400 (22-of-55).
• Minato netted 23 points for the second game in a row to reach the 20-point mark for the fourth time this season while also adding six rebounds. Senior Jean Parker contributed 12 points and six rebounds and sophomore Lena' Hicks registered career highs of 11 points and four boards.
• Hicks' 11 points at Duke marked the second consecutive game an Army reserve has reached double figures, as freshman Madison Hovren tallied 11 points in the Central Connecticut State game on Nov. 19.
RIDER (2-2) NOTES
• After beginning the season with back-to-back wins, Rider has fallen in each of its last two games, most recently dropping a 78-59 decision against Princeton on Nov. 24.
• Junior Robin Perkins and senior Manon Pellet both tallied double figures for the Broncs, with 13 points and 10 points, respectively.
• Perkins paces the Broncs with 15.5 points per game this season, while junior Julia Duggan also averages double-digit points with 11.8 points and is the team's leading rebounder with 6.8 boards per contest.
• Rider opened the year with victories against Towson (78-72) and St. Francis Brooklyn (71-59). The Broncs are 1-1 in both home and away contests.
NATIONAL ATTENTION

The Black Knights led by as many as nine late in the first period before holding a 34-31 advantage at halftime. Army also moved up to 24th in the College Insider Mid-Major Top 25 Poll for its performance through the first four games of the year.
