WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Army hockey team heads back out on the road this weekend for a pair of games with Canisius at the Harborcenter on Friday and Saturday.
A reminder to fans, Friday's game against the Golden Griffins is a 4:05 p.m. start, while Saturday's is a 7:35 p.m. faceoff.

THIS WEEK: THANKSGIVING IN BUFFALO
The Black Knights are ready to be on the road for Thanksgiving for the second-straight year as Army travels to Canisius for a league clash Friday and Saturday. Friday's matchup has been moved to 4:05 p.m., while Saturday's is a 7:35 p.m. faceoff at the Harborcenter. Canisius has had a rough stretch with four consecutive losses, including a sweep at the hands of Ohio State. The Golden Griffins split their weekend series at home against Mercyhurst last week. They downed the Lakers, 4-3, on Friday night, but dropped the weekend finale by a 4-1 score.
NEXT WEEK: HOME-AND-HOME SET WITH SACRED HEART
Army remains in league play next weekend with a home-and-home series with Sacred Heart. The Black Knights will travel on Friday night to the Pioneers and return to Tate Rink on Saturday. Sacred Heart is one of the more improved teams from a season ago and is 5-6-2 overall with a 4-3-1 conference mark. The Pioneers head to Robert Morris on Saturday and Sunday this weekend. They are looking to halt a four-game winless streak.
LAST WEEK: WEEKEND SERIES WITH ROBERT MORRIS
The Black Knights earned a point for the fourth-straight league weekend with a 4-4 tie on Friday night against the Colonials, however Robert Morris responded on Saturday night with a 5-2 win. Brendan McGuire led the way for Army with two goals and an assist on Friday night. Ryan Nick continued his hot start to the year with a point in each contest. He scored his third goal of the year Friday and followed that with an assist on Saturday. Conor Andrle remains the team's leader in assists with six on the year after two more last weekend.
ON THE RADIO
Both games will be live on the radio in the Hudson Valley on 1260 WBNR-AM in Beacon and 1430 WLNA-AM in Peekskill. Nikolai Busko is on the call for each game this weekend. The games are also live on Knight Vision at GoArmyWestPoint.com.

For the first time this season, Army will be on television in the New York area on Time Warner Cable Sports. The broadcast begins on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. at the Harborcenter.
POWER PLAY NUMBERS
Army is off to a great start on the power play in the first 10 games of the season. The Black Knights are averaging one goal with the extra skater so far this season. The power play is 10-for-46 for a 21.1 percentage success rate, which is among the top units in the league. It is not just one or two players putting up numbers as eight different skaters have tallied at least one goal on the power play. Joe Kozlak and Trevor Fidler lead the way with two apiece.
ALL-AROUND PLAYER
Ryan Nick has been a pleasent surprise for the Black Knights this season with four points in his last three games. He has already set a career high with three goals so far this season, including two in the last three games. He scored the gamewinner against UConn on Nov. 10 and tallied Army's first goal of the game on Nov. 20 opposite Robert Morris.
WHO SCORED?
Army has scored 19 goals this season from 11 different skaters. Clint Carlisle and Ryan Nick lead the way with three goals each, while four players have two goals. Brendan McGuire joined the group after tallying two goals against Robert Morris on Nov. 20. The six goals scored versus the Coloinals came from five players.
COACHING MARK
Army's head coach Brian Riley is coming up on his 400th career game behind the bench for the hockey program. He currently sits at 397 games coached in 11-plus seasons with the Black Knights. He will hit the mark on Dec. 4 when Army plays at Sacred Heart.
SCOUTING THE GOLDEN GRIFFINS
Canisius enters the weekend with a 3-8-0 record overall and a 3-3-0 mark in conference action. The Griffs have hit a bit of slide recently with one win in their last six games. They got swept at Ohio State and lost to Merrimack at home before splitting with Mercyhurst last weekend. Canisius has been at home a lot this year with seven of its first 11 contests coming at the Harborcenter. The Griffs are averaging just over two goals a game and are giving up 3.73. The power play hasn't been clicking at 11.1 percent, while the penatly killl has allowed 11 goals on 39 chances.
Ralph Cuddemi is back as the top returning forward and has 13 points on six goals and seven assists. He has a power play and shorthanded tally this season and is getting closer to career point No. 100 as he sits at 94. Junior Shane Conacher is tied with Cuddemi for the team lead in points with 13 and owns the most assists on the roster with eight. Conacher has two of the three gamewinners for the Griffs and has nine league points for the most on the squad.
On net, Canisius is young with sophomore Reilly Turner and freshman Simon Hofley sharing time. Turner is 2-5-0 with a shutout and a 3.66 goals against average and a .895 save percentage. Hofley has earned a 1-3-0 mark with a 3.24 goals against and a .912 save percentage.

These two schools are meeting for the 50th time on Friday night. The matchup began in 1992. The series has been a close one with Canisius holding a slim 23-22-4 advantage. The teams have split the last eight meetings after the Black Knights edged the Griffs late last season, but Canisius answered with a win the following night. This is the lone series of the year between these two teams after playing four times last season.
