Women’s Basketball Hosts Quinnipiac Sunday

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Fresh off a 63-53 victory over Pepperdine in its season opener on Nov. 13, the Army West Point women's basketball team welcomes Quinnipiac to Christl Arena on Sunday, Nov. 15 for a 4 p.m. game.

STORYLINES
Army plays the middle game of a three-game homestand to begin the 2015-16 campaign. The Black Knights defeated Pepperdine to begin the year on Friday night and now look to improve to 2-0 for the first time since winning their first five in 2003-04.
THE ARMY-QUINNIPIAC SERIES
Quinnipiac leads Army, 5-0, in an all-time series that dates back to the 1983-84 season. The schools most recently met in last year's season opener, with Quinnipiac taking a 79-64 decision in Hamden, Conn., on Nov. 15, 2014.
ARMY WEST POINT (1-0) NOTES
• Senior Kelsey Minato netted a game-high 28 points to extend her Patriot League-record double-digit scoring streak to 81 games, while also finishing with a game-high-tying eight rebounds.
• Senior Aimee Oertner posted 10 points and seven rebounds, while classmate Jean Parker finished the Pepperdine contest with eight points and five boards.
• A pair of Army freshmen made their collegiate debuts in Friday evening's game, as Madison Hovren and Gabby Purnell drew nine and six minutes off the bench, respectively.
• Army was selected to finish first in the Patriot League, while Minato was picked as Preseason Player of the Year.
QUINNIPIAC (0-0) NOTES
• Quinnipiac is coming of its best season in a program history after finishing 31-4 overall and a perfect 20-0 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
• The Bobcats earned a trip to the NCAA Tournament for the second time in program history after defeating Marist, 72-61, in the league title game.
• Maria Napolitano is the leading scorer among returners after scoring 6.9 points per contest in 2014-15.
• Quinnipiac was selected for a third-place finish in MAAC.
