Women’s Tennis Travels to Middlebury Invite

WEST POINT, N.Y. – After a week of rest following the 18th Annual West Point Invite, the Army West Point women's tennis team will get back into the swing of competition, traveling to Middlebury, VT for the Middlebury Invite.
Action is set to get underway at 9 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 9 and will conclude with the final rounds on Sunday, Oct. 11.
Bridget Guenard captured an individual title at the West Point Open, earning a 6-1, 6-3 victory over second-seeded Gillian Perrotta of UConn in the final of the 4th Singles Draw.
A multitude of Black Knights advanced deep into the tournament, with Carolyn Pitman competing in the semifinals of the 1st Singles Draw and Melanie Allen competing in the semifinals of the 3rd Singles Draw.
In doubles action, Gabriella Spindler and Eva Sung fell in the quarterfinals to the top-seeded duo from Cornell in Draw A and Julian Mok and Arianna Spirtos advanced to the quarterfinals before dropping a close decision to a pair from UConn.
This will be the first of three-straight weekends of competition to close out the fall season for the Black Knights. They'll travel to Lehigh the following weekend for the Lehigh Invite before the season culminates in Hanover, N.H., at the ITA Regionals, hosted by Dartmouth.
