Men’s Soccer Heads to Holy Cross Wednesday

WEST POINT, N.Y. – After last competing over a week ago, the Army West Point men's soccer team finishes off its current three-game road trip on Wednesday when it travels to Worcester, Mass., to face Holy Cross at 7:05 p.m.
The Black Knights were last on the field on Sept. 26, falling in their Patriot League opener at Lafayette, 1-0. Army was scheduled to play Navy at PPL Park in Chester, Pa., on Oct. 2, but the match was postponed until Nov. 3 due to unplayable weather conditions.
Army holds a 16-14-3 lead in an all-time series against Holy Cross that dates back to 1983. The Black Knights and the Crusaders played to a 3-3 draw on Oct. 29 at West Point last season, with Army netting a go-ahead goal to go up 3-2 in the 87th minute, before Holy Cross answered with the game-tying goal in the 89th minute.

• Senior goalkeeper Chris Britt made one save against the Leopards, allowing the game's only goal in the 44th minute, just 1:20 before the halftime whistle.
• Sophomore Shaban Abousaud leads Army with five points (2 goals, 1 assist), while junior Christian Ollen is second on the team with four points (2 goals).
• Wednesday's match will mark Army's second game this season that comes after a layoff of a week or more. The Black Knights played to a 1-1 draw at Fordham on Sept. 15 following seven days off.

• Holy Cross is coming off a 1-1 draw on the road at Bucknell on Oct. 3.
• Both goals in the match came off penalty kicks, including a tally from Holy Cross' Justin Carfora to tie the game in the 73rd minute.
• The Crusaders earned a 1-0 road win at Lehigh in their Patriot League opener on Sept. 26.
• Joey DeVivo (3 goals, 1 assist) and Yuji Callahan (2 goals, 3 assists) lead Holy Cross with seven points each this season.
