Men’s Soccer Returns to League Play at Loyola

WEST POINT, N.Y. – After slipping to Rutgers in a nonconference match on Tuesday, the Army West Point men's soccer team is back to Patriot League competition this weekend, as it travels to Baltimore, Md., to play Loyola on Saturday at 7 p.m.
The Black Knights enter the weekend in a three-way tie for seventh in the Patriot League standings with five points. Army stands one point behind Lehigh for the sixth and final spot in next month's Patriot League Tournament. Army and Navy come into the weekend with five league games remaining, while the other eight Patriot League teams have four. Loyola sits 10th in the conference with one point on the season.
Army leads Loyola, 2-0-0, in a series that began in 2013 when Loyola joined the Patriot League. The Black Knights collected a 1-0 win in Baltimore, Md., in 2013 before earning a 2-1 victory at West Point last season. Juniors Christian Clark and Tanner Vosvick provided goals in last year's win over the Greyhounds.

• Army fell to Rutgers by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday to wrap up its three-game homestand. The contest was Army's final nonleague game of the regular season.
• Senior goalkeeper Chris Britt made four saves in the setback.
• The Black Knights are unbeaten (1-0-2) in their last three Patriot League matches, including a win over Lehigh (3-2) and draws against American (0-0) and Holy Cross (1-1).
• Senior Cody Guerry leads Army with three goals on the season, while juniors Christian Ollen and Nick Williams and sophomore Shaban Abousaud all have two.

• Loyola is coming off a 3-2 home victory over Drexel on Tuesday.
• Xander Saling netted a hat trick in the win, while keeper Matt Sanchez finished with a pair of saves.

• Loyola's last Patriot League result was a 1-0 loss at Lehigh on Oct. 17.
