Women’s Rugby Falls to Life on the Road

Marietta, Ga. – Hitting the road to take on one of the nation's best teams in Life University, the Army West women's rugby team dropped a 63-7 decision to the Running Eagles on Saturday morning.
Lindy Clark scored the only try of the game for Army, dotting down in 78th minute. Nicole Heavirland converted the kick to move the score of 63-7.
"Today was a pretty long day for us," said head coach Bill LeClerc. "Life was a lot hungrier for it than we were. There was some redeeming qualities, but it was not our day today. We have a lot of work to do."
With the loss, Army falls to 4-3 on the season. Its three losses have all come to nationally-ranked opponents as it fell to Penn State, Lindenwood and Life. The Black Knights, however, still boast an unblemished conference record, capturing a pair of victories over American International as well as wins over Quinnipiac and Norwich.
Army will return to the pitch on Saturday when it hosts conference rival Norwich in a 12 p.m. matchup with the Cadets from Anderson Rugby Complex.
