Santana Wins Second Patriot League Honor

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Army freshman sprinter Jose Santana picked up his second M-F Athletic Patriot League Male Track & Field Rookie of the Week certificate of the season Wednesday afternoon. Santana took the honor for his performance at the Larry Ellis Invitational hosted by Princeton.
Santana finished first in the 400-meter dash with an IC4A qualifying time of 48.03 seconds. He was also part of the 4x100-meter relay team that helped the Black Knights finish fourth with a time of 41.79 seconds. It was the fourth time he has run a leg on the 400-meter time that reached the IC4A standard.
Santana is now qualified for the IC4A Outdoor Track & Field Championships in the 100-meter, 200-meter and 400-meter dashes.
The Black Knights will compete at the Penn Relays beginning April 24 before heading to the Patriot League Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Navy on May 2-3.
