Track & Field Earns 52 Academic Honor Roll Certificates

PL Women's Academic Honor Roll
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Army track and field combined to collect 52 mentions on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, the conference office announced Wednesday. On the men’s side, Army drew 35 accolades, while the women’s team earned 17.
To be eligible for the Spring Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn at least a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester and participate in one of the Patriot League’s winter or spring championship sports.
In all, 248 female student-athletes and 219 male student-athletes were represented on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. Four Black Knights posted a GPA of 4.0 or better including senior Mark Van Benschoten (4.123), juniors Emily Buck (4.217) and Andreas Kellas (4.047) and sophomore Robert Koehlmoos (4.047). Buck’s 4.217 GPA was the highest among the Patriot League’s female track and field athletes, while Van Benschoten’s 4.123 GPA was the highest among the conference’s men.
The Army men placed third in the Patriot League Championships during the indoor season, while the women finished sixth in the conference championships, held from Feb. 21-23 in Lewisburg, Pa. In the Patriot League Track and Field Outdoor Championships, on May 2-3 in Annapolis, Md., Black Knight men took fourth, while the women were fifth.
During the outdoor season, Army’s women’s team defeated Navy, 103.5-99.5 in the annual “Star” meet on April 5 at West Point.
