Dr. Kat Longshore is a Mental Performance Coach in the Center for Enhanced Performance (CEP) and the Performance Psychology Program. Dr. Longshore works with cadets on their mental game so they can perform at their best when it matters the most. She provides support to Women’s Basketball, Women’s and Men’s Tennis, Women’s and Men’s Soccer, and Softball Teams. She also teaches PL360, Psychology of Elite Performance and RS104 Mental Skills for Cadets Success, as well as serves as the Performance Psychology Program’s Internship Co-Coordinator and Peer Coach Program Co-Supervisor.
Prior to joining the CEP in May 2020, Dr. Longshore worked with athletes, teams, and coaches through her Mental Performance Coaching practice. In addition, she was a visiting assistant professor in the Psychology Department at Lafayette College, where she taught Sport Psychology, Design & Analysis, and Quantitative Methods.
Dr. Longshore earned her Ph.D. in Psychology of Human Movement from Temple University (Philadelphia, PA) in 2015. Her dissertation focused on designing and evaluating a mindfulness training program for coaches. Prior, she earned her Master’s in Sport Sciences, Sport Psychology Pathway from Brunel University (West London, UK) in 2009, and her B.S. in Psychology from Lafayette College (Easton, PA) in 2007. While at Lafayette, she was a 4-year member, 2-year captain, of the Division I Softball Team.
Originally from Philadelphia, PA, Dr. Longshore now resides in Highland Falls with her wife, Monica, and cat, Elijah.
