Scott Green joined the Black Knight staff in 2021. In 2025-26, Green helped lead the team to a 5-5 dual record on a schedule which featured three duals vs. Big Ten Conference opponents, and another two vs. other ranked opponents. Army finished 5-1 in EIWA duals, including a signature 19-18 win in the Star Dual at Navy secured by a 2-0 decision by Brady Colbert at heavyweight in the final bout. Army’s win of Navy was its third in a row and eighth over the past 12 years.
Nine Army wrestlers made the podium at the EIWA Championships in 2025-26, with Ethan Berginc (133 lbs), Gunner Filipowicz (165 lbs) and Brady Colbert (285 lbs) earning automatic berths to the NCAA Championships, held in Cleveland, Ohio. Additionally, Braden Basile (141 lbs) made the NCAA Championships as an at-large.
Berginc’s trip to the NCAAs was his fourth—becoming just the fifth four-time qualifier in program history. Berginc also finished as EIWA runner-up in his senior season.
Berginc and Colbert each recorded wins at the NCAA Championships, with Colbert picking up a first round championship bracket victory and going 2-2 overall at the event.
During the regular season, Colbert and Filipowicz each won EIWA Wrestler of the Week accolades. Filipowicz also earned his third trip to the Southern Scuffle finals on January 4, as Army sent six to the podium at the signature mid-season event in Chattanooga, Tenn.
In 2024-25 Green helped guide seven Black Knights to the NCAA Championships, the most since 2021 and tied for the second-most in program history.
Army finished third overall at the EIWA Championships, and won the star dual over Navy for the seventh time in 11 years. Trae McDaniel also captured the EIWA championship at 149 lbs, to go along with Ethan Berginc’s 133 lb title at the Black Knight Invitational, and Gunner Filipowicz’s 165 lb and Army’s team title at the Southern Scuffle.
Green also serves as coach of the program’s USA Wrestling and United World Wrestling events. In June 2024, Lucas Stoddard and Charles Farmer won gold medals at the U23 Pan-American Championships in Rionegro, Colombia, in the 125kg and 57kg freestyle divisions, respectively. Additionally, Army's Joseph Couch competed in the 60kg Greco-Roman flight, going 1-2 overall.
Green landed at West Point after an 11-year tenure as the head coach at Wyoming Seminary high school. In his time with the Blue Knights, Green turned Wyoming Seminary into one of the best high school programs in the country, twice winning the National Prep championship (2014, 2020) while mentoring six National Prep individual champions. Green posted a 208-9 record in dual meets with Wyoming Seminary since 2010, guiding the Blue Knights to 14 straight Pennsylvania Prep Championships. He also coached 100 wrestlers to individual state titles, with 41 going on to win National Prep titles.
Prior to joining Sem, Green coached at his alma mater, Binghamton University, and internationally, leading United States athletes to titles in Amsterdam, Cuba, Hungary and Puerto Rico.
