Michael Lynch was added to the Army West Point sprint football staff in July 2019. He currently serves as the Defensive Backs Coach.
In 2019, the Army Secondary was ranked No. 1 in the CSFL in both passing yards allowed per game (94.1) and points per game (7.8). Coach Lynch also coached two all-league performers in cornerback D.J. Young and free safety Ryan Leach. In 2020, Lynch played a pivotal role in holding Navy to only three points in a victory in Annapolis.
Prior to joining the sprint football staff, Coach Lynch spent 15 years coaching at the high school level. From 2011-2018, Lynch served as varsity head coach at Hendrick Hudson High School in Montrose, New York. During that time, Lynch guided the team to four consecutive playoff appearances and was named a two-time Journal News & MSG Varsity Coach of the Week. In 2016, Lynch was also honored by the New York Jets and Chase as their coach of the week.

Lynch attended Wagner College from 1998-2002, where he played quarterback for the Seahawks and was captain of the men’s lacrosse team. He graduated from Wagner in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts in History. He then earned his master’s degree in 2004, also from Wagner College, in Secondary Education.
A native of Baltimore, Lynch currently resides in Hopewell Junction, N.Y., with his wife Laura and their children Ella and Michael.
