Major Angel Robles enters his second year with the Army West Point men’s rugby program.
Major Robles graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 2005 with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Chinese. Upon graduation, he was commissioned as a 2LT in the Infantry. His first assignment was as a Rifle Platoon Leader, Company C 2-16INF 1ID, and later as a Heavy Weapons Platoon Leader, Company D 2-16INF 1ID during the Surge in Iraq. Major Robles transferred from the Infantry to Military Intelligence in 2008 and served as an advisor to an Iraqi Division G2 Staff and the Iraqi Intelligence Agencies. During his second deployment, he helped create a Multi-National Targeting Cell in city of Basra. In 2011, he was selected to be an Interrogation/Linguist Training Company Commander, Company B 309th MI BN at Fort Huachuca, Ariz. After competing his term as a Company Commander, he served as the Module A Chief for MI BOLC until he was selected to attend graduate school.
Major Robles received a Masters in Liberal Arts Degree in Chinese Linguistics from the University of Arizona in December of 2014. He is currently a Chinese Instructor with the Department of Foreign Languages.
Major Robles’ awards and decorations include a Bronze Star Medal (OLC), Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with two Campaign Stars, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Valorous Unit Award, and Meritorious Unit Commendation (OLC). He has also earned the Combat Infantryman Badge, Combat Action Badge, Parachutists Badge and Ranger Tab.
