2018-19: Voted Team Captain ... one of five players to skate in all 39 games this season ... scored four goals ... two scores were short handed ... also dished out five assists for nine points ... netted shorties at Holy Cross (Feb. 2) and versus Mercyhurst (Feb. 16) ... finished the year with 23 blocks ... capped his career with 144 games played ... amassed 13 goals and 23 assists for 36 points.
2017-18: Appeared in all but four contests during his junior campaign ... scored a goal and added an assist ... score came against Sacred Heart (Nov. 21) ... helper was opposite Bentley (Feb. 16) ... ninth on the team in blocks with 25 ... one of 10 players to have at least 20 blocks on the year.
2016-17: Skated in all 37 games for Army … posted two performances with three assists … first was against Sacred Heart in the team’s 4-0 shutout on Oct. 7 … second was opposite Niagara on Feb. 10 … totaled two goals and 12 assists on the year for 14 points … took 60 shots and added 27 blocks.
2015-16: Appeared in 36 games for the Black Knights ... scored six goals and added five assists for 11 points ... tallied the second most points among rookies ... recorded both of Army's shorthanded goals, including the series clincher against Holy Cross in the Atlantic Hockey Tournament Quarterfinals ... added his first collegiate point with an assist against Merrimack on Oct. 24 ... scored his first collegiate goal opposite Canisius on Nov. 28 on the road ... also tallied goals against AIC (Dec. 12) and Sacred Heart (Jan. 9) ... recorded multi-point games versus Bentley on Feb. 26 with two assists and had a goal and a helper opposite AIC in game three of the AHA First Round playoff series.
Prior to West Point: Played two seasons with the Salmon Arm Silverbacks of the British Columbia Hockey League ... tallied 40 points in 91 games played for the Silverbacks and was the team's Rookie of the Year in 2013-14 ... played with Blake Box prior to joining the Black Knights.
Personal: Maruya is half Japanese and is not a fan of sharks ... he describes West Point as a great place to play Division I hockey and get an excellent education with the chance to serve his country ... Management major.
