Maurice Sims joins the football strength and conditioning staff for his second season at Army West Point as an assistant coach.
Sims arrived at West Point following a stint as the Head Sports Performance Coach at Stack Sports Performance and Therapy in Atlanta. He performed assessments on athletes to development training programs and implemented them. Sims also graded and critiqued athletes during their performance. Prior to moving to Stack Sports Performance and Therapy he was a Corporate Wellness and Fitness Manager for the National Institute for Fitness and Sport for two years.
Sims returns to the college ranks for the first time since he was an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Indiana in 2014. He was the head of the operations for the development training program and assisted with the development and implementation of sport specific training programs.
Before Indiana, Sims spent a couple of seasons at North Carolina A&T as an Associate Director of Strength and Conditioning. He was the head coach for basketball, baseball, softball and track and field, and assisted with football. Sims also worked at Bethune-Cookman from 2011 to 2012 and worked with basketball, track and field and tennis.
Following his graduation from Chattanooga, Sims was a football strength intern at the University of Tennessee.
Sims earned his degree in Human Health and Performance from Tennessee Chattanooga in 2010 and then got his Master’s in Transformative Leadership from Bethune-Cookman in 2012.
