FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM SUMMARY:Â
This program is intended to engage and cultivate young, aspiring athletic administrators to become leaders of the ever-changing landscape of college athletics. Fellows will gain experience in an FBS, Division I athletics department within the world's premier leader-development institution, the United States Military Academy. This program is designed to provide outstanding candidates a quality learning experience which will ultimately accelerate the traditional career path within or adjacent to college athletics. No previous military experience required!

PROGRAM LENGTH:
This is a one-year commitment with a renewable second year. Upon the successful completion of this program, each fellow will receive a certificate of completion signed by Director of Athletics, Mike Buddie.

FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM SUMMARY:Â

POSITIONS AVAILABLE & PROGRAM MENTORS: (Click position title to see FULL job description and application)
- Administration Fellow: This position is charged with working on a wide range of department projects, events, and initiatives on behalf of the executive leadership. This individual is responsible for carrying out high level projects from initiation to completion, and communicating with executive staff members, coaches, cadet-athletes, and other constituents.
- External Operations and Revenue Generation Fellow: This position is charged with working independently as well as collaboratively on projects, initiatives, and events under the revenue generation umbrella. This includes assisting in areas of athletics fundraising, ticketing and overall financial management of each revenue stream.Â
- Internal Operations Fellow: This position is a valued member of the Internal Operations team and participates in the areas of event management, football operations, the execution of NCAA and conference championships, equipment operations, capital projects, facilities, and more.Â
- Strategic Communications and Engagement Fellow: This position is charged with working and contributing innovative ideas in areas of strategic communications and overall brand enhancement. This includes areas such as athletic communications, broadcasting, feature videos, marketing and social media strategies.
A key component of the fellowship program includes a commitment to helping each successful candidate to develop as a professional.
This includes:Â
- Monthly tailored development training sessions (Ex: guest speakers; educational sessions; self-awareness assessments; etc.)
- Special projects and volunteer opportunities in areas outside of assigned sub-departments
- Involvement opportunities in Army-Navy Star SeriesÂ
- Shadowing sport administratorsÂ
- One-on-one mentorship opportunitiesÂ
- Coordinating dignitaries and special guest visits to post Â
- Experience in project leadership and management Â
- Lead staff and teams in major department initiatives and eventsÂ

PROGRAM LENGTH:

COMPENSATION:
- Limited to 40 hours per week; Hourly rate of $18/hour
- Enrollment Opportunities in AWPAA Benefits Program
- Rent Free and Convenient On-campus HousingÂ
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or higher preferred
- 2 years of relevant work, graduate program, internship, student, or volunteer experience within an intercollegiate athletics department or professional team
- Must be vaccinated for COVID-19
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Must submit to a background check
