Trio of Black Knights Earn Patriot League Weekly Honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After a successful weekend of competition at the Virginia Challenge, Mikayla Cheney, Nathan Davis and Todd Worth earned weekly Patriot League honors, the conference announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Cheney and Davis were each named Track Athletes of the Week, while Worth was named Rookie of the Week.
For Cheney, this is her second time this outdoor season earning a weekly honor. On Friday night the junior distance runner set a program record in the 1500m, posting a time of 4:13.04 to finish third. That time is also first in the conference and 45th among Division I athletes this season. Cheney also finished third in the 800m with a time of 2:07.85.
On the men's side, this is the first weekly honor this season for Davis. The New Jersey senior posted a remarkable time of 8:32.31 in the 3000m steeplechase to finish third and set a new program record. His time sits atop the Patriot League and is ranked 12th in the country.
For Worth, this is his first track weekly award during his time at Army. The freshman recorded a 1:48.78 in the 800m, which is the fifth-fastest time in the Patriot League this season and ranks No. 9 all-time at Army.
The Black Knights will be back in action this Thursday-Saturday at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia.
