Baseball Drops Finale at Lehigh; Still Claims Series Win
April 12, 2026 | Baseball
Â
The Black Knights (18-15, 9-7) now put their six-game road trip in the books, gearing up for a 10-game homestand.
Â
Army turned to three pitchers in the finale who had previously thrown in the series. Starting pitcher Walker Calvo—who recorded four outs in the club's Friday win—got the ball to start Sunday's finale and pitched two frames.Â
Â
Michael Delph came out of the bullpen in the third and threw four innings, recording a trio of strikeouts.
Â
Anthony Ramirez stranded the bases loaded in the seventh but allowed the go-ahead runs in the eighth and took the decision. Josiah Overbeek recorded the final out in the eighth inning, one day removed from a save in the daycap of Saturday's doubleheader sweep.Â
Â
William Parker legged out an RBI in the first inning, beating out a potential double play to score Overbeek and give the Black Knights a 1-0 lead.
Â
However, Lehigh would respond with four runs in the second and another in the third to go ahead 5-1.
Â
Overbeek got a run back for Army in the fourth with a sacrifice fly, before Chris Barr recorded an opposite field RBI double to make it 5-3.
Â
Barr added another RBI double in the sixth, this time to the right-center gap, to get Army within one run in the sixth. Then in the seventh, with runners in scoring position, Mason Scott gave the Black Knights the lead with one swing of the bat, scoring both Carter Hewitt and Jack Quinlan with two outs to put Army ahead 6-5.
Â
The top of the eighth saw Thomas Schreck score on a fielder's choice turned throwing error on a throw to the plate, giving Army a 7-5 lead before Lehigh came back in the bottom of the inning.Â
Â
By the Numbers
Â
12: Army tied a season-best 12 walks drawn on Sunday, a mark equaling from Friday's win. Schreck drew three of the walks and Scott worked four.
Â
2-for-6: Barr was 2-for-6 Sunday, with him and Scott collecting a pair of RBIs each.Â
Â
Black Knight Notes

Calvo's start was the first in his career.
