Men’s Tennis’ Ton Named Player of the Week

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After a perfect week for the Black Knights, Alan Ton was named the Patriot League Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Ton, a junior from Fountain Valley, Calif., posted a 3-0 week in singles action, as Army recorded wins over Marist, Lamar and Hofstra. With the three singles wins, Ton is now 8-2 this spring and 3-0 in the No. 1 spot.
On Friday against Marist, Ton posted a 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 win in the No. 1 spot, helping Army down the Red Foxes 4-2. On Sunday, Ton did not drop a set. Against Lamar, the junior had a strong 6-3, 6-4 victory in the No. 3 spot to open singles action for Army.
Ton capped off his weekend with a 6-1, 6-3 win in the No. 1 spot against Hofstra.
This is the second time a Black Knight has won the weekly honor, as Jimin Jung was named Player of the Week on Feb. 10.
Army is back in action this weekend, as it travels to Southern California for a pair of matches against UC Irvine and Loyola Marymount.
