Women’s Tennis’ Sy Named Patriot League Player of the Week

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army West Point women's tennis' Emma Sy has been named Patriot League Women's Tennis Player of the Week for February 3.
Against Stony Brook on Saturday evening, Sy defeated Elena Lobo Corral 6-4, 2-6, 6-3 on singles court No. 1 to clinch the 4-3 team win for Army. A native of Port Washington, N.Y., Sy came back from 3-2 down in the third set and saw her match go two hours, 37 minutes. The match was Sy's first career appearance in the No. 1 singles position.
Army completed a 2-0 Saturday and 3-0 weekend despite dropping both doubles points Saturday.
Earlier Saturday, Sy also recorded a 6-2, 6-2 win over UConn's Victoria Matos as the Black Knights defeated the Huskies 4-1.
Army stands at 6-2 overall in 2025-26 and will face FDU, Monmouth and Fairfield on Feb. 6-7.
