Men’s Rugby Announces Spring 2026 Schedule
January 28, 2026 | Men's Rugby
WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army West Point Men's Rugby head coach Matt Sherman has announced the 2026 Spring Schedule.
The Black Knights will participate in three regular season fixtures before moving into the CRAA D1A postseason. Two regular season matches are slated at Anderson Rugby Complex.
"This spring schedule is a real test, and we're excited for it. It starts with a tough road match at St. Thomas and leads into a challenging home stretch against the defending national champions and the defending Canadian national champions on back-to-back weekends, highlighted by Alumni Legacy Weekend and Senior Weekend. It's a schedule designed to make us better, and our players have been working hard to earn the opportunity to compete at that level as we prepare for the national playoffs," said head coach Matt Sherman.
Army will open the spring slate at St. Thomas (FL), with a 6:00 p.m. kickoff on February 28 in Miami Gardens, Fla.
The Black Knights return home to face California on March 14 for Alumni Legacy Weekend, before closing the regular season on March 21 vs. Guelph. Army's fixture against Guelph represents the second leg of the inaugural Cannon Cup, after winning the opening stanza at the Canadian university to open the fall 2025 season, and will also serve as senior day.
The CRAA D1A Playoffs get underway with the Round of 16 on April 11, followed by the quarterfinals April 18 and the semifinals April 25. Each of those games will be hosted by the higher seed, leading into the CRAA D1A National Championship match on May 2 in Indianapolis, Ind.
Army went 7-2 during the 2025 fall campaign, going 4-2 vs. Rugby East Conference opponents. A season ago, the Black Knights were narrowly dispatched in the CRAA D1A quarterfinals, 18-17 at Life University after defeating Mount St. Mary's (MD) in the Round of 16 at home.
