WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army West Point Class of 1972 Head Men's Wrestling Coach Troy Nickerson has announced the 2025-26 schedule.Â
Â
The Black Knights will compete in 18 events, including eight tournaments and 10 duals. Army will host two home tournaments and six home duals. Most home events are at Christl Arena unless noted otherwise.Â
Â
Season tickets are available now for purchase for only $40. This exclusive purchase window remains available through November 23. Single-match and group tickets will open for sale on October 8.Â
Â
"I am excited for this season and continuing to build on the tradition of this storied program," said Nickerson. "Our team will be tested greatly this season, as we believe that facing top level national competition regularly will prepare our cadets for the culminating event, the NCAA Championships."
Â
For the second straight season, the Black Knights will open the season at the Princeton Open, with this season's event set for November 2. Army will compete in its first dual on November 7, at Big Ten foe Nebraska.Â
Â
Army will participate in the Journeymen Round Robin November 9 in Bethlehem, Pa. before returning home for a pair of tournaments. Gillis Field House will host the Black Knight Open November 16, before the annual Black Knight Invite returns to Christl Arena November 23.Â
Â
The Black Knights will take on Wisconsin at home December 6, before facing their third Big Ten squad of the year on December 13 at Indiana.Â
Â
After breaking for exams and the holiday season, Army will return to action January 3-4 in Chattanooga, Tenn., where the program will seek to defend its Southern Scuffle team title.Â
Â
Army's final regular season tournament will be the Lehman Open at Franklin & Marshall College January 9. From there, Coach Nickerson brings the Black Knights to his alma mater, Cornell, for a January 16 dual, their final non-conference test.Â
Â
Army will open EIWA competition with a home dual at USMAPS vs. American on January 18. The Black Knights will then return to Christl for conference dual matches vs. Bucknell on January 25, Lehigh on February 1, and both Hofstra and LIU on February 7.
Â
The Black Knights conclude the dual season with the Star Series presented by USAA
at Navy February 20. The Black Knights defeated Navy last year for the second year in a row, and the seventh time in the past 11 seasons.
Â
The postseason begins March 6, with the EIWA Championships set for March 6-7 at American University. Qualifying wrestlers will then advance to the NCAA Championships in Cleveland, Ohio, set for March 19-21 at Rocket Arena.Â
Â
Nickerson heads into his first season at the program's helm after being hired in June. He takes over after 11 seasons in the same role at Northern Colorado where he transformed the Bears into a consistent Top 25 program on the mat and in the classroom.
Â
Army returns eight NCAA qualifiers: Charles Farmer, Ethan Berginc, Braden Basile, Trae McDaniel, Gunner Filipowicz, Wolfgang Frable, Lucas Stoddard and Brady Colbert all seeking a return trip to the NCAA Championships in 2026.Â
