May 04, 2025 | Women's Lacrosse
WEST POINT, NY - No. 18 Army West Point women's lacrosse sees its season continue with an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Black Knights (13-3, 8-1 Patriot League) will take on No. 12 Penn (10-6, 5-2 Ivy League) on Friday, May 9 at 3 p.m. from College Park, Md. The game can be streamed live on ESPN+.
It marks the second-ever NCAA appearance for the Black Knights in program history, who previously went to the big dance in 2023 in Michelle Tumolo's second season. Army's matchup with Penn marks the first meeting between the two programs. The victor will advance to take on the winner of No. 6 Maryland vs. Fairfield on Sunday, May 11.
Army boasted an 8-1 record in Patriot League play for the second time in program history to earn the number two seed in the Patriot League Tournament. Army's resume was strengthened through victories over a top-five opponent in Stanford, Patriot League champion Navy and Big Ten's Rutgers in the season opener.
The Black Knights were led by five all-conference selections this campaign including first team nods for junior attack Allison Reilly, junior midfielder Brigid Duffy and junior defender Meghan Pedrani with second team recognition for junior defender Sarah Chernik and junior goalkeeper Lindsey Serafine.
Reilly surpassed Army's single-season points record and currently has 100 points even while Duffy broke Army's single season ground ball and caused turnovers records with 45 and 32, respectively.
The Black Knights have now made the NCAA Tournament twice within the first 10 seasons of the program, and twice in the past three seasons. Army will look to pick up its first ever NCAA Tournament win on Friday.
