May 10, 2025 | Baseball
Â
The Black Knights will play to keep their season alive Sunday.Â
Â
Navy scored five runs in the sixth and 11 in the eighth, tying the game and then taking the lead at Max Bishop Stadium Saturday.Â
Â
Starting pitcher Andrew Berg took a five-inning no-decision, striking out two Navy batters.Â
Â
Navy opened the scoring in the bottom of the first, but Berg limited the Mids to just one run, setting the table for four unanswered Army runs.Â
Â
The Black Knights would tack on two runs each in the second and third innings, with each run coming on two-out RBI doubles. Coleson Titus scored Zac Farrell and John McKillop with a single swing in the second before Justin Lehman and Jack Quinlan each collected two-base knocks an inning later.Â
Â
After Navy got a run back in the fifth, Army would answer with three in the sixth. After Thomas Schreck doubled down the left field line to plate a pair, Chris Barr reset the lineup with another RBI, this time down the right field line to make it 7-2.
Â
Navy would score five in the sixth to tie the game, before Army reclaimed the lead in the seventh, on a one-out Quinlan RBI single to score William Parker.Â
Â
Robbie Penswick, Kevin Reavey, Mark Abell and Walker Calvo each pitched in relief, with Reavey taking the decision.Â
Â
Titus, Schreck and Barr would each add RBIs in the ninth inning. Â
