Women’s Tennis Opens Postseason With Win Over Lafayette

HAMILTON, N.Y. – A brand-new season began Friday morning for Army West Point Women's Tennis.
And the Black Knights exited their postseason opener 1-0.
Opening the Patriot League Women's Tennis Championships vs. Lafayette at Colgate's J.W. Abrahamson Tennis Courts, top-seeded Army made quick work of the Leopards and claimed a speedy 4-0 victory to secure its spot in the tournament semifinals Saturday.
Army's convincing doubles point win foreshadowed decisive singles play. After a pair of 6-1 wins on doubles courts No. 2-3, Vennmukiil Mathivanan and Emma Sy won without dropping a game on their respective singles courts No. 4-5, and Ylan Duong clinched the team win on court No. 6.
