Men's Basketball's Jalen Rucker Named to MWBA All-Met Second Team
April 23, 2025 | Men's Basketball
NEW YORK — Senior guard Jalen Rucker received his fourth postseason honor of the 2024-25 season on Wednesday, being named to the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association (MWBA) All-Met Second Team.
The senior joins the MBWA Second Team alongside Terrence Brown (FDU), Malachi Davis (LIU), Jackie Johnson III (Fordham), Josh Pascarelli (Marist) and Dejour Reaves (Iona).
Jalen Rucker earns the Second Team honor after competing against 21 colleges and universities, and more than 300 athletes, under the MBWA Division I men's umbrella.
Jalen Rucker wins the honor after finishing his senior season averaging 18.3 points a game, 3.2 assists per game and 1.6 steals a game. Rucker completed the year at 27th in all of NCAA Division I in career scoring average (15.9 ppg) and now sits at sixth all-time in career scoring in Army's program history (1,877 points).
Jalen Rucker finished the 2024-25 season in Daytona Beach at the Purple College Basketball Invitational, averaging 26 points a game while shooting 40 percent from the floor and 38.7 percent from the three-point line in the Black Knights's two games at the tournament. He also averaged four assists, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals a game.
To end his final season as a Black Knight, the senior also helped lead the Black Knights to an opening-round win against Elon, which broke a 55-year postseason tournament win drought for the Black Knights. Before the historic win, the last postseason win for the program in the postseason came in the 1970 National Invitational Tournament (NIT).
The All-Met Second Team honor adds to the four postseason award for the senior, which also includes being named to the Patriot League All-League First Team, National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) North Atlantic District First Team and to the Purple CBI All-Tournament Team.
