Track and Field Sees Top Finishes at Bison Outdoor Classic

LEWISBURG, Pa. — Army West Point Track and Field saw multiple strong performances at the Bison Outdoor Classic, with several athletes scoring top marks.
Starting on the women's side, several Black Knights earned top marks, with one setting a new facility record.
Emily Fink first in hammer throw after breaking the Bucknell facility record in the hammer throw, with a mark of 67.19m (220" 5") to earn gold in the event, it was a season best throw for her and now holds the mark ranking third in NCAA DI.
Emily Fink also made her presence felt in the shot put, winning first with a 15.40m throw. Fellow teammate Jordan Hecht finished the event second with a 15.29m mark. Fink and Hecht were the only two athletes to surpass the 15-meter mark in the event.
Skye Chambers also saw strong placements in her events, placing fifth in 800m run (2:08.11) and eighth in the 400m run (56.89s).
Moving back to the field events, three cadet athletes finished third, fourth and fifth in the discus throw.
Sophia Dykstra placed third with a 47.87m mark, Jordan Hecht threw for fourth with a 46.05m mark and Olivia Hancock rounded out the group in fifth with a 45.00m final throw.
To round out the women's side, Zoe Eggleston completed the Bison Outdoor Classic with a third place finish in the hepthalon, Her best finishes included finishing second in 100m hurdle, first in 800m run and second in 200m dash.
Moving to the men's side, several athletes also received top marks in Lewisburg.
Anthony Diaz claimed his first win in 10,000m the season with a time of 29:29.22. His mark ranks third in the Patriot League this season.
Kasen Jeitz also added to the top finishes for the Black Knights, winning the 800m run in the field of over 140 athletes with a 1:48.93 final time. Nathan Davis would also add a fifth-place finish in the 1500m run (14:20.72).
Moving to the field events, John Phelps finished second in the pole vault at the Bison Outdoor Classic with a 4.86m (15' 11.25") final mark. The freshman is now tied for fourth in the League this season in the event.
Robby Manse won second place in the shot put with a 17.58m final mark and third in the hammer throw with a 59.96m final mark.
Finally, Canyon Hall gave an all around strong performance, earning his first decathlon win of the outdoor season, scoring 6763 points.
The decathlon win includes wins in the 110m hurdles with a 15.58s final time, the pole vault with a 4.45m final mark, the shot put with a 13.91m throw and in the javelin with a 52.43m final mark.
Up next, the Black Knights head to Charlottesville, Virginia, for the Virginia Challenge hosted by the University of Virginia. The meet will begin on April 18 and last through April 19.
